Ee mobile Wi-Fi 4G hotspot question.

Hi guys I need some advice.
I bought the above mobile router and a ee 120gb data sim. I set it up with a camera to keep an eye on an empty house I have for sale.
The Wi-Fi drops out and the dongle turns off. It’s plugged into the mains with no battery in it as advised. I want to be able to view it from my house  1 kilometre away but it just says offline. I don’t have any other Wi-Fi system in the house. What can I do to sort it out or is there a better dongle or router that will work with my SIM card?

Hi @Tunster

Is the issue you're facing with the mobile signal to the dongle, or is that your dongle is disconnecting and switching off automatically?

I think the dongle switches itself off.

I’ve tried resetting it.

Hi @Tunster

I suspect the problem you have is sleep on the router when the camera is not used or connecting to the network. Have you checked the router settings.

Thanks

Hi Northerner I’m not sure how to do that? I’ve tried typing in 192.168.1.1 but it can’t find server? I’m wondering if it’s faulty I did get it secondhand?Or would I be better with something like this?

@Tunster

You'll be able to find the admin page address, username and password on the lable on the router.
It's only possible to connect to the admin page if you're connected to the dongle through WIFI.

What is the make/model of your current mobile router?

Usually you'd find the setting in something like Advanced > Wi-Fi > Wi-Fi Advanced Settings, set Wi-Fi automatic sleep time to No auto sleep.
