EE terrible Sim only service

Sdc3

I joined EE a year ago from my long term provider as I heard how good EE was. How mistaken. Not only is the signal and 4G service slow and abysmal, it doesn’t cover nearly enough areas. I live in Bristol, on top of a hill with a mast visible from my house, and my data is terrible. When I visit other areas of the country, it’s just as bad. I regret joining EE to the point that I want to no longer use their services, and they have the nerve to charge me £95.48 to keep the phone number I’ve had for 14 years, and that I brought to them in the first place. I would recommend not going with EE if you own your device, and choose another provider. They are not the ‘best’ as their advertisements describe - in fact, I can confidently say they are the worst. Their perks are terrible, and also the charges they add on are egregious, ie travelling charges, data add ons, all ridiculously expensive. They’re the market leader in being expensive. Avoid, Avoid, Avoid.

Hi @Sdc3

I understand, this is why I would recommend a replacement SIM.

If you wish to discuss your account with us I'd recommend giving us another call.

Hello @Sdc3

Welcome to the community.

Have you been able to check your area for any known issues using the Status Checker?

What does 4G coverage show for both indoor and outdoor?

Have you been able to test your SIM in another device?

Speak soon,

Hi Katie, thanks for the response - the status checker says the signal is good. However I know this not to be the case. Often the signal is weak and doesn’t load simple images.

I have been able to try the sim in a secondary device, as I upgraded my mobile recently to an iPhone 15.

this is the main cause of frustration that EE is purported to be a Apple partner and I’m not getting the service I expect. This is why I think my needs are not being met within my service contract and I’d like to leave

Hi @Sdc3

Thanks for checking.

Have you been able to report a problem via the Status Checker? this will notify our tech team who can look into this.

If you are experiencing the same issue when your SIM is in another device I would recommend trying a replacement SIM.

Katie

Thanks for the advice, but it’s past this now unfortunately. It’s not just an issue for where I live, but across the city, and when I travel to the countryside too.

Out of interest, which hill is this?

Coverage & capacity are two different things. Did the replacement SIM resolve the issue?
