Hello. Wondering if someone can answer this. I have an iPhone 15 pro max on an unlimited plan, and I have access to 5G if  I go to the big town near me. But in my village I have only 4G, which has always been fine.

I was with a friend yesterday, they have an iPhone 14 on EE, and she got 5G stood next to me and I was still only getting 4G!…..

Do EE roll out 5G gradually to users in areas?

I have no issues with 5G elsewhere so it isn’t my phone or plan

The network does have the ability to enable accesses selectively, but this isn't used for new site or technology activations.

Sometimes 5G selection can depend on which 4G site you're connected to, and whether 5G-NR is on the same site or a neighbour.

Try a 2way SIM-swap next time.

@scallydeejay  Is your device set to 5G on or 5G auto ?  5G on it’ll use 5G all the time and can override WiFi if the 5G signal is stronger that the WiFi signal but 5G auto will allow 5G when it doesn’t effect battery life if it does device will switch to 4G.
