Data connectivity in Windsor Berkshire

i live in Windsor and have huge issues with data connectivity. In the centre of town and back at home, inside and outside.

I went into store to ask for help and unfortunately was just sold to. My wife’s uses another provider and they don’t have the same problem. I have to constantly sign into Wi-Fi to use data.

what can we done to help?

@LWH  Wi-Fi has nothing to do with cellular data they are 2 different ways of having a data connection on a device.

Is this a Wi-Fi connection issue or a cellular data issue?

Wi-Fi is a connection to a router that provides a broadband internet connection.   This is the Wi-Fi symbol on your device and look similar to

4F9F5ED6-E59B-4D04-AE18-C7A8ECC92036.jpeg

Cellular data is using your device to connect to the EE network.

a different network is a different network so that has nothing todo with the connection on your device.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Thanks for the reply Chris.

it’s a cellular issue. I simply have no data access even though coverage is good.

I mentioned WiFi as the only way in an use data is to sign into hotspots.

Hi @LWH.

Have you had a look at our Network Coverage And Status Checker to see if there are any issues in your area?

Does your phone show VoLTE/4G-call when you have data issues?

It may be that you're inadvertently using 2G/3G

Thanks Jon_K

yes I have checked this. The status checker says it’s fine but unfortunately I still have the same issue.

in store they said that Windsor castle has had some EE signal “blockers” installed. Is this a thing?

Good thought thank you. But nope I have the 4G status and what looks to be decent coverage.

I haven't heard of that before, @LWH

If you report a problem on that status checker, our Network Team will investigate it for you.

That can safely be filed under well-meaning but over-exuberant.

Are you able to use mobile data in other locations, or is it only Windsor town centre?

I can never use mobile data in Windsor this has been the case for many years now. I visit Windsor sometimes but it never allows me to use the Internet even with 4 or 5 bars of signal
