I have had no mobile data since yesterday and whenever I press the button to switch it on in settings, the device tells me to install a sim (which is and has been in the device the whole time).
I have tried resetting the device and removing the sim and reinstalling but still not having much luck. I have also been on hold to EE for 40 minutes 3 times and still not got an answer 😕

The SIM probably needs cleaning.
Are you on contract or PAYG?

Does your phone show signal indicators of a network? And are you able to make/receive voice calls?
That would be good evidence of the SIM allowing you access to a network, and the issue with data potentially being in the phone itself.
Are you able to take a screenshot of this error message?
