I’m having the same ‘problem’. I was on on 5GB a month, and started getting warnings of having used 80% so upgraded to 8GB. 2 days ago I was again warned I’ve used 80%….have just checked and I’m now down to 450MB. Still got 7 days to go. I’ve been with EE for years and never had this problem, so something stinks.
I will start looking around for another provider.

Does your phone's data counter broadly correlate with the usage your account is showing? Sync the counting period to assist with these checks.

Hi @Barney2Millie 

A 5GB data allowance does not go as far on modern phones as it used to as phones get smarter, often something that has worked "for years" will be strained as background usage for apps etc increases.

A prime example is cloud storage for photos and videos meaning they often have to be "streamed" to the device when wanting to view them.

Try taking a look at your phone's data usage monitor to find out the apps where the usage is coming from.

Many thanks for that. I’ve had this phone for about 3 yrs, not added any new apps recently & 5GB has always been fine.. I’ve now deleted several apps, turn it off at night.so will make do with 8GB. Can’t afford any more. Only use mobile to alleviate boredom…I shall read a book instead…!
