Are you on a contract or pay as you go at the moment?
If it's a contract, you should be able to connect even once you've run out, but this will be restricted to a speed of 0.5 Mbps.
On pay as you go a pack will work on a 30 day rolling basis, but it is possible to use all the pack data before this is due to refresh.
