Getting the internet on PAYG

I’m not really a mobile phone user, but I bought one recently for emergencies.  I just use pay as you go and top up every now and then.  I thought I’d be able to use the internet when I’m out and about (not via my home wi-fi), but I can’t.  Is that right?

Thanks for reading

Calls & texts can be paid for out of credit on a "pay as you use" basis.

Mobile data requires an add-on to be able to use. They are listed partway down on https://ee.co.uk/help/mobile/manage-use/pay-as-you-go/payg-data-addons

That's great.  Thanks for clearing that up for me.

To buy a data add-on, top-up a sufficient amount & then text ADD DATA to 150 & choose 1.
