Foreign usage mobile charges but I am using a separate data sim package

Not wishing to pay EE exhorbitant charges for using my phone abroad, I purchase a data sim package from Ubigi..whole cost is £9 in total. But I see I am being charged 30p by EE for each message I send. My iPad shows my mobile data connection is with Ubigi but still I am charged by EE. Any suggestions as to what’s happening and also how to contact EE via chat/email? as being abroad, they expect me to call them incurring a charge for this also, concerning a problem which I think is of their making! Doesn’t seem quite fair to me

You're obviously still using something on EE despite thinking you're not, they wouldn't charge you 30p per time just for nothing

@Bobbiesgirl54  you’re sending text from the iPad. So that’s sent via your iPhone SIM card as it’s linked to your Apple account. An iPad can’t send texts natively and routes it through to your iPhone to send, so you are charged for sending that text from EE.
The iPad’s can only send iMessages as that’s a data sent message not a text message
