Data

I recently got an iPhone 15 from an EE store. The guy asked me about data and we found a plan where it wouldn’t run out. Last month I spent over £80 on back up data because it ran out. I’m on a 2 year contract and can’t afford to do that every month. Is having 5G eating my data? I thought it’d be the same as 4G. Also can I change my plan just for more data a month? I don’t really want to be charged loads more though.

Hi @Tashiabloom I can imagine it's very frustrating when you don't expect your data to run out, but it does.

5G has the ability to download data faster, so you may find that you because a download has finished earlier, you want to download another file as soon as that one finishes, which of course means you end up using more data.

If you'd like to change your plan, it's worth giving a guide a call on 150 from an EE phone, then they can take a look at your needs and find a plan that suits you, you can increase you plan at any point within your term.

@Tashiabloom  Out of curiosity what data allowance do you have ?

The only way that your data won't run out is where you use less than your allowance.
