slow LTE speeds at night in Slaithwaite, HD7, Huddersfield

for the last few weeks mobile data speeds on an evening have dropped to 10mbps or less. Usually 5mbps or so, but as low as 1mbps. I'm used to getting in excess of 60mbps - 120+ mbps is not unusual and generally still have very good speeds during the day, but hit 7pm or so and it's now started getting dire. Latency is still good, less than 40ms usually.

Signal is strong - RSRP usually around -80dBm

primary earfcn 1617.

If the slow-down is consistent to the evening, it may be load-related caused by increased traffic. You can check for known faults using the "check status" option on https://ee.co.uk/help/mobile-coverage-checker

Are there any other EARFCN available on your serving site? Or is this just a single-B3 carrier.

apologies for my late reply, the notifications went into my spam folder. Thanks for your reply.

The serving site offers B7 and I think B1 (and in fact are usually aggregated with the B3) but using those specifically didn't improve things.

I had repeatedly checked the status site for faults and there were none. However, a day after I posted this (2nd October) I got an email from EE saying they were carrying out maintenance work. I was on holiday so couldn't check immediate but when I got back a few days later, the evening speeds have returned to good levels (after several weeks of poor performance). Could be a coincidence, but either way, this is now fixed for me.
