I have just got my Smart 4G Hub 2. Easy installation and set up. All my portable devices connect without much difficulties.
But when I try to connect my HIVE hub with a ethernet cable. It doesn’t work. There are only two lan port available but none of them work.
i am sure that the cable and power of my HIVE are working good because it works when I plug it back to my old network which will be disconnected in a week time.
Has anyone face the same problem and can suggest solutions for me.
Thanks a lot.
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

@TimLau So not sure if it is the issue, but you are no further fwd with the hive, found this in a post.
After having spent a couple hours trying to resolve this issue with EE tech support, this fix worked in seconds. Thank you good person of the internet. For anyone else having this issue on the EE 4G Smart Hub 2:

@TimLau Check to see if any of the ports work on another device, also hive link below if you have a speed issue.

I don't have any other LAN devices at my home but I will try to find one to test it again. However, I don't think it is a speed issue. I have swapped with another router (TPLINK MR6400) with a speed as slow as 0.5Mbps and it still works fine on the HIVE. Also, it works when I plug it back to the Virgin Media's router.

@TimLau Once you establish the ports are ok, the only other thing that springs to mind is setting the profile for IP4, not a mobile broadband person but there is plenty info on the forum about it.

I have just tested it again. There is nothing wrong with the LAN cable nor the the HIVE hub. Caused after I connected the HIVE with the Smart Hub 4G, the light of the HIVE hub blinks and return to green (which is a normal/working light). I don't think there is an switch to enable/disable the ports.
Would there be any chance the LAN ports on the new router are defect?

I contacted HIVE technical support during weekend and after hours of trials and test, but problem still cannot be solved.
I am incline to think that there are bugs in the Smart 4G Hub of EE, at least about the LAN ports, if not a defect.
1. My home still get two ISPs, one is with Virgin and the other is new EE wifi BB
2. With lan connection, TV Box, HIVE hub works fine on Virgin
3. With lan connection, TV Box works on EE router but not HIVE
I called the EE support after HIVE support and the answer from EE is "THEY DON"T HAVE PROBLEM, I HAVE TO CHECK WITH HIVE".
Deadloop.....

@TimLau If the EE router and the TV box is working on the lan connection of it, then there is nothing wrong with the EE router, your hive is not connecting to were it needs to go, did you understand about the IPV4 settings?

I don't get much idea about IPV4 but will have a look to see if it can be fixed. Guess that I have to modify the profile setting

It works! I’ve check this page before but just never think it is the problem.
Create a new profile with IPV4 only.
Thanks so much
