older router security questions

I have an old EE router model 4GEE Router HH&OVB?

I have out a new sim in that came with the portable EE router and it seems to work no problem. Would the security protocols on this older router be robust enough to offer the same security as a new router? Is there any difference?

Many thanks

@pkshades : Probably much the same other than its default admin pwd being "admin", the same for all of that model, rather than a specific admin pwd for each particular 1 of the model, written on a label on it.
