Living in a rural area with no fibre broadband we made the decision to buy a 4G router (TPLink) and purchased a data only sim from EE. Things were fine for months but the last couple of months we’ve been back and forth to tech teams as our 4G data speeds have dropped significantly across all devices in the house. We have 3 mobiles, 1 iPad and the 4G router which are all having problems. The tech team today said that we are jumping between 2 masts, one that receives high traffic and the other being less congested (hence the dropouts etc). He suggested getting an EE antenna installed and that it costs around £100 all in. However, after looking on various posts am I right in thinking that we would need to have a 4GEE router on the applicable package to be eligible for an antenna? I’m locked in for 24 months on my data sim and spent £130 on my router so it’s not an option to get another contract, but we really need an antenna! Our speeds drop down below 3 most days and I work from home so any help would be great! Thanks x

Hi @Shellyschmoo,
Welcome to the EE Community. 🙂
Sorry, we can only arrange antenna installations for EE supplied equipment.
I'd recommend contacting Customer Care to see if it is possible to upgrade to a 4GEE Home router plan.
