Samsung Tablet a charging fault and WHAT are my options? PLEASE CSOMEONE HELP ME

Hi,

I'm really hoping that someone will be able to come up with a solution to the issue I'm currently dealing with! 🙏🏽🤞🙏🏽🤞

Last year, in December 2023, and took out a number of contracts with EE, 1 of the items/devices is a Samsung tablet and it seems to have, some sort of issue or fault when it comes to charging the device.  EVERY, single time I have to charge it, a window pops up, basically saying that I need to look at the cable, as there is a fault or issue and if it persists, then I should get and a NEW cable to use. I did EXACTLY that! I've tried using a number of different and compatable cables. I even used all the OTHER charging cables that came with the other Samsung phones etc, that I purchased at the same time.  However, it still has the same check your cable/connection etc. It still is sayimg the same thing. While it does eventually work, its so weak/slow that it takes HOURS & HOURS to charge.

For ALL those reasons, I feel pretty confident in my belief, that the issue/fault with my tablet  It was purchased last December and has mobile broadband. I mention that, as I'm wondering is it being an electrical item, and just under a year old, that EE HAS to replace or repair it or something? This has been an ongoing issue for months now. The reason I haven't pursued this previously, is because that even though it was a bit "Slow" to charge, it wasn't really, really, REALLY slow like it is now!!

Does anybody know what my options are, with regards to sorting this issue out (or if there even IS options to choice from in the 1st place!!) Thank you for taking the time to read my long winded question!!! 😋🤭

Hi @m-l-elder

What is the charging rate for the plug (assuming you're using a plug) to charge. That warning sounds like your charger isn't good enough and as a result your device is charging slow.

Thanks.

Hi Northerner,

Thank you so much for yyour message. This is the 1st time I've ever posted on ANY sort of Community Forum.  I've never actually even looked at Forums before! I'm really surprised at just how easy it is and just how quick you get replies. Will 100% use them going forward, so thank you for opening my eyes.

Unfortunately, I WISH it was just as simple as needing a new plug! However, I have tried 6 or 7 other plugs and got the same results. I tested plugs that work perfectly on my other devices as well as my k8ds working plugs. I even used my sofa that has built in USB charging ports. No luck.

Maybe I should just contact EE and see if they will exchange it as its in it's 1 year electrical good warranty thing. Or at least that's the way it worked in the past. Not sure now it's all this smart tech. It used to be if you bought an electric item, say a microwave or lamp, if it was under a year old you got a replacement if it became faulty.

Thank you for your time 🙏🏽😁

Hi @m-l-elder

Are your plugs at least 25W/35W or 65W fast or super fast chargers. Make sure that your port is clean and the cable is correctly fitted.

The USB ports on your sofa will be insufficient.

What Samsung tablet do you have.

It will be likely you'll need to claim on your warranty if it the issue is mechanical, although if not you'll need to pay for a repair.

Thanks
