Propose the best Unlimited Data EE eSIM (preferred) or SIM Only Plan for Home Bb

What would you suggest to me is the best Unlimited Data EE eSIM (preferred) or SIM Only Plan for Home Mobile Bb using my new replacement MikroTik ATL 5G R16 router please?

I am with Three coming to the end of a 24mth contract this week, currently £24.10mth, providing unlimited data, voice & text although the latter two aren't really necessary other than for account verification or rebooting the router remotely by text but I can do this another way.  I've successfully used Three for over six years but looking for 5G/+ which EE tells me is available at my location and tests OK with an iPhone.

Three's new contract offer is £15 / mth increasing to £19.60 in 2027 which is very competitive but I'm still keen to switch, even if it's at a greater but reasonable cost, if I can get 5G/+ from EE.

Requirements:

  • Normal semi-rural home use by two retired seniors with average 195Gb monthly download consumption over the past 3 months Three inform me.
  • Unlimited data & happy to sign-up for EE's 600Gb fair use policy.
  • No data speed caps so we can take advantage of the faster speeds available via 5G+ / 5G SA, appreciating that there could be speed caps during busy periods.  My location isn't densely populated by people or traffic so I don't expect this to be an issue.
  • It's a large home so two TVs, SkyQ, FireTV, two laptops, SONOS, IoT etc. amounting to many more then twelve devices I've seen mentioned here.
  • We would consider a business plan if this is more appropriate to us.
  • Happy to contract up to 24 months by direct debit.

NB Although EE alerted me to Fibre Broadband coming soon, Openreach / BT say this is not actually the case and if it were I would wish to maintain an LTE / NR backup.  Prior to Three 4G we had been ADSL & VDSL users from a number of ISPs but cost for 16 dn / 1 up wasn't fair or adequate.

Any and all suggestions welcome.

Thank you for reading.

EE unlimited data plans are intended for personal use only. They have a personal use FUP of not regularly tethering more than 11 devices. Should you do so EE may insist you move to a business plan or may apply traffic management.

From the Pay Monthly SIM-Only Shop page:

Unlimited Data Plans : 50GB fair use policy applies outside UK. Personal, non-commercial use only. If you regularly tether 12 or more devices, we will consider this non-personal use and have the right to move you to a more suitable plan. We will consider usage above 600GB/month to be non-personal use and have the right to apply traffic management controls to deprioritise your mobile traffic during busy periods or to move you to a business plan. You can gift up to 100GB. Data usage on an unlimited data plan will be deducted from giftable allowance. Any data boost allowance will be added to the giftable allowance.

You should go for a phone SIM rather than a data SIM as these will be generally cheaper & have more data than a data SIM.

You should be looking at unlimited data phone SIMs with no speed cap & with as few Extras as possible as they won't be applicable to a mobile router, such as:Capture.JPG

eSIM vs physical SIM makes no diff. You choose!
