Mobile Broadband

Hello, I’ve recently bought 4g mobile broadband but I am struggling to get any more than one bar of signal on it. I am between houses at the moment, one is rural and one is in a built up area but the signal is equally as bad at both addresses. I have a work mobile which is EE and the signal is always really good in both locations so I don’t understand why the box doesn’t have the same signal. I’ve seen the signal boosters that are available but can’t understand why the box doesn’t have a similar signal as my mobile phone. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you

@Eswan  Have you tried placing the router near a window?

The bars are only a rough guide, but of more interest would be the phone & router being so wildly different. They should be broadly similar if the antennas are side-by-side.

Is the router using a PAYG SIM or a pay-monthly one? And have you swapped SIMs between the devices, to check whether the issue is hardware or SIM/account-related?
