MacBook won’t connect to 5G smart Hub

Hi,

we have a 5G smart hub for our shop. We have a iPad, iPhone that all connects and works fine to the hub but the MacBook Pro just won’t connect.

it picks up the hub in the WiFi and connects to it then drops out almost immediately. MacBook has latest software update, tried turning everything off and on again and nothing works. It just won’t connect and stay connected. So frustrating as everything else connect and works just fine.

Any ideas?

Hi @GG597

Please test disconnected all of the cables connected to the computer and turn off bluetooth, then test if the internet stays connected.

If your router is using WPA2/WPA3 Mixed Mode "Wireless Protected Access", try changing your router to just WPA2.
If switching to just WPA2 does not improve the situation, then please switch back to WPA2/WPA3 Mixed Mode, and try disabling IPv6: System Settings > Network > Wi-Fi > Details > TCP/IP (tab) > Configure IPv6 > Link-Local Only.

Finally, you could try a WiFi extender connected to your router and see if your Mac will stay connected to the extender.

Keep us updated with how you get on.
