Hi,
we have a 5G smart hub for our shop. We have a iPad, iPhone that all connects and works fine to the hub but the MacBook Pro just won’t connect.
it picks up the hub in the WiFi and connects to it then drops out almost immediately. MacBook has latest software update, tried turning everything off and on again and nothing works. It just won’t connect and stay connected. So frustrating as everything else connect and works just fine.
Any ideas?

I have managed to figure out what was causing my problem. When connecting to my 5G router it wading setting up the correct DNS my wife's MacBook Air (2024) worked so I check all the settings and the DNS was the only thing that was different I added it to my MacBook Pro and it worked
the DNS is - 2a00:23ee:2610:29c8::1
To get there click the apple in the top left > System Settings > Network then under wifi click Details > DNS

@GG597 on the MacBook click on the WiFi and remove it from the MacBook., totally removed that that connection name from the device.
Setup the connection from scratch

Hi @GG597
Please test disconnected all of the cables connected to the computer and turn off bluetooth, then test if the internet stays connected.
If your router is using WPA2/WPA3 Mixed Mode "Wireless Protected Access", try changing your router to just WPA2.
If switching to just WPA2 does not improve the situation, then please switch back to WPA2/WPA3 Mixed Mode, and try disabling IPv6: System Settings > Network > Wi-Fi > Details > TCP/IP (tab) > Configure IPv6 > Link-Local Only.
Finally, you could try a WiFi extender connected to your router and see if your Mac will stay connected to the extender.
Keep us updated with how you get on.

Sorry No, didn’t solve the problem and I still can’t connect my MacBook to the hub/wifi. Given up now which is a real pain because it means we can’t use the laptop at work. Very frustrating!

Thanks for that info.
the DNS settings in my mac says no DNS servers. So do I just add the DNS you suggested?
Thanks
