Link SIM to EE account - can't receive messages

I want to add a new SIM to my new EE account, but because the SIM is going inside a mobile router I can't receive text messages. Is there a way to add this sim to the account without using the message

@PJLiverpool : Most mobile routers can receive texts. Login to it & look for the SMS Section.

I have same problem so how do you log in to it?  

@BigBruce : Login to your MBB router at http://192.168.1.1 with username/pwd as "admin"/"admin" or with the admin password found under the battery cover.
