Huawei 5G CPE PRO3 H138-380 + EE Ultimate data sim

Hi, I bought a Huawei 5G CPE PRO3 H138-380 (outside UK, no lock as per provider 3HK). I bought a EE Ultimate data sim from Amazon.

They are not working well together. EE data sim work fine on 4G/5G mobile tethering, good quality on wifi call + TV live streaming.  However, when EE sim goes into Huawei 5G CPE PRO3 H138-380, I can see the wifi and connect but it show "connect without internet". Mobile can connect it for sending msg or even viewing youtube. The connect drop frequently. Therefore Ii cannot make wifi call.

Can anyone have the same issue? Can it be fixed? Please help.

WiFi Calling is not supported outside UK.

@armuun , are you saying you bought the phone from outside the UK or are you abroad trying to use wifi calling?

If you bought the phone from another country, in order for wifi calling to work, as it is not working in the UK, you would have to factory reset and then make sure you re-install the UK version, if however you are trying to use wifi calling whilst abroad, then as @XRaySpeX has written, it will not work.

I tried your way to set APN / iPv4. However, I cannot get it works. The status light was red.

Do you have any idea or setting I can try?

This workaround is only for the HUAWEI 5G CPE Pro models and not for the Pro 3.

Unlocked HK/Should work fine, if the Status LED is showing Red thats probably a LTE Signal issue, did it work before? or has never worked in the UK?

I set it recently in UK by using the 5G CPE PRO3 router. It does slightly work in my phone but very unstable signal, on/off frequently. Only 1 mobile (Samsung Note 10+) can connect it to make msg and watch YouTube but cannot make wifi call due to signal on/off too often.

My other mobile Samsung S20fe always show "connect wifi without internet".

The status LED on Red. There's no connect show from the Huawei Ai apps. I can't connect to it.

@armuun : By EE Ultimate Data SIM do you actually mean an EE Unlimited Data SIM or an EE Connected Data SIM? Is it prepaid or PAYG?

Don't use the Huawei Ai App it's very limited and you probably won't be able to check the APN or change the IPV.

Login into the Admin Web UI, if it's a China  or HK version it will be 192.168.8.1

Check the APN is correct but don't enter the fields User or Password, leave them blank, also set the Authentication to PAP and set the IPV to IPV4 Only.
