I was sold EE 5g broadband when i moved house as the best alternative to copper wire broadband, it works fine and i get a good fast signal, but the 5g router runs red hot all the time as it is constantly charging up the battery. Does anyone else have this problem, and it there an alternative 5g router that does not have a battery?

Not sure that helps as i cannot upgrade now for another 2 years.  In the meantime are you saying the EE62d  router is meant to overheat?  Logging into the router it looks like the battery will only charge up to 80% and i have only had the router for 3 weeks.

I never said that! I never implied that! I was solely answering your Q about battery-less mobile routers.
