EE Wifi hotspot won't log in

I have both home broadband and mobile (4 lines on my mobile account). When I'm in a public space my phone will often ping telling me I can connect to an EE Wifi hotspot, but it never ever works. When I go to log on I click the box that I am an EE Broadband customer, put in my user name and password, but it just goes round in circles and takes me back to the same page. I'v tried this on several different devices, so I feel that it is my EE account and not my phone that is the issue. The banner when I am logging in says that "All EE account customers and BT Broadband customers get free access to EE Wifi across millions of hotspots", so I don't understand why it has never worked for me?

Thanks!

@Aimsleey : Which BB plan are you on? It's only available free to New EE BB users, not legacy.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

Ah that might be the reason, I have had Broadband for a while and renewed/recontracted in July. That's disappointing, yet another company punishing people for being loyal customers.

Well I am a new EE Broadband customer - switched from BT last month - and it doesn't work for me either. It says on the Captive WiFi banner 'All EE account customers get free WiFi access to millions of hotspots across the UK'. I enter my EE broadband login details (those I use to manage my account) and it just flips back to the login page, no message, just end up going round in circles. So is the banner a complete lie? If so it should be taken down.

shame, because it would be useful when travelling.

Where I live has lots of areas of poor mobile signal, so the wifi hotspots could prove to be invaluable to me in times where I have no network.

Hi @oldsteel

I recommend having a chat with our Customer Care team so they can check everything is set up on our side for you.

Chris

I have the same issues with all in this tread.

i switched from BTbroadband to EE in August, still cannot access EE hotspots, The captive EE banner just doesn’t work, after several calls to EE they say that’s it ! We cannot do anymore for you and if you want to access hotspots, just ring us up for a voucher,

I have just given up, obviously a technical problem EE won’t admit to, frustrated that I’m not getting the service I patpy for.j

Good morning @Afj56hcfc.

Thanks for taking the time to share the details of your experience here.

We actually have a dedicated team for all queries linked to the public WiFi network which is separate to our regular customer care team.

Is this who you reached out to in this instance?
Also when you log in to the EE app, does this show all the correct details for your broadband account?

Peter

This has now been fixed, surprised to get a phone call last week from EE saying it was now resolved, I had given up , this has been a problem for nearly 6 months!
