Dear All,
I use a EE WiFi hotspot which is very local to me. This signal strength is good
Once I have connected using my EE WiFi account, pay as you use, the connection generally connects. The service is good.
However, more recently, the service drops out. The signal strength is good, however when I check the WiFi connection manager on the Windows 10 laptop I can see it reports a "No internet, open" message. Clearly I lose connection to the WFi hotspot connection at this point. I then have to login to my EE WiFi account again. Service is generally resumed, however not always. I pay £39.99 for a monthly WiFi hotspot service.
Firstly, has anyone experienced something similar?
Secondly, is there a fix?
Thirdly, the lose of service has only started within the last week.
Any thought and comments are welcomed.
Best regards,
Alf.

Hi there @alfie001
Thanks for coming here.
Do you loose connection on any other WiFi network?
Have you restarted the device since this last happened?
Leanne 🙂

Hello Leanne_T,
Thanks for your response.
Leance_T, please note the following. It may assist with this enquiry.
1. The WiFi (radio interface) remains in place at all times.
2. I still have a connection to the WiFi network IP address is assigned, Default Gateway is assigned as is the DNS server address.
3. I can resolve domain names which conforms the underlying network connection is in place.
4. I have over 600 minutes left on my pay as I use monthly subscription.
5. I believe the fault/misconfiguration is with the access service. Each time I lose access to the WWW, I have to re-authenticate to the BTEEWifFI network. I do not think It is an inactivity issue as the WiFi session drops out when I am using the hotspot.
6. The hotspot that I use is the Caravan Club, Cumberland Road, Bristol.
7 My laptop detects many other home WiFi routers The fault is not with the laptop
Is it possible to investigate this line of inquiry?
Best regards,
Alf
PS: I have included details of the BTEEWifI network assignments when I lose the service. The underlying network assignments are in place.

Hello Leanne_T,
Many thanks for your reply to me.
Leanne_T, I started using this service this evening. It started well, then the drop outs started. During the evening the authentication website, ee-wifi.ee.co.uk/home, stop responding with a HTTP error code. This is not part of the EE WiFi hotspot wireless connection. This is the authentication service.
However, after approximately 30 minutes, it was available. After logging in again, the EE WiFi service seems to be more stable. The wireless signal fluctuates but the service to the WWW remains in place. It may be the authentication service was faulty or undergoing an upgrade.
I will call 150 tomorrow and speak to the technical staff.
Thanks for your assistance Leanne_T.
Best regards,
Alf.
