4g home broadband cuts out for a few minutes at random

Hi

I have an EE 4g router (HH10E) and SIM card. Maybe once or twice a day it just stops working. No obvious reason why, but it usually starts up again within a few minutes without any other intervention.

I was using the internet just now and the router started flashing green instead of constant turquoise. I had to reboot it and it then worked.

I live in an area where there is no fibre, so 4g is my only option.

Can anyone help?

I have the same problem as yours.  I have subscribed to the mobile broadband for about a  month.  The router states NO SIM a few times a day and I gotta reboot the router.

I am not always at home and the router is connected to some other smart devices like the boiler and lights causing quite some inconvenience to me.

Good morning @ChrisBristol, welcome back to the Community 😊

Normally flashing green would indicate that your router is starting up and first connecting to 4G, so it sounds like it may be rebooting, or shutting down, of its own accord.

Have you tried resetting this using a PIN or paperclip in the small hole at the back?

Also @TimLau is it the same model, the HH10E, that you're using as well? If it is I'd definitely recommend this same reset too.

Hi there, I think your EE 4G router may be dropping due to signal issues or glitches. To solve this issue you can try placing it near a window, checking the SIM card, or updating the firmware, or you can also try an external antenna. However, If the issue still persists, test another router, hopefully, the issue will be resolved.

Thank You.

@Peter_W  Thanks for your advice.  I reset the router but it doesn't help.  To be even worse, it indicates "NO SIM".  I tried other EE sim and taking the SIM out and in a few times.  Now it works with a solid green.  The router is all the time at the same location.  Anyway, I will take the router to the physical store and see if they can help me with it.
