Hi there,
I have recently moved to a new estate which is ‘blocked’ to other Wi-fi providers so I have opted for mobile broadband. I have the Wi-Fi mini box and have run an internet speed checker in each room and placed in the room which has the strongest signal. The signal is still poor at 2 bars and runs at 35.2 mbps download and 6.12 mbps upload.
As I am using this for all devices in the house- 2 smart tvs, sky, Xbox, VR, PC I was wondering if there was a signal booster which would enhance its performance and if anybody could recommend which one to purchase. As we get a couple of hours with no problems then it cuts off and we have poor download etc but when I check the status there seems to be no problems?! But my son can’t use his Xbox and streaming lags on Netflix etc.
also, can you use Wi-Fi boosters for the tv downstairs? As it constantly switches ‘connected’, ‘not connected’ on sky.
any help/ advice would be much appreciated 🙂

Hi there @Ojeh
Thanks for coming here.
The WiFi mini doesn't support external antennas, the only way to improve signal would be to experiment with placing the device in different positions within your home.
You could also check to make sure there aren't any problems in the area with our EE Coverage and Network Status Checker.
If you would like to discuss your options, please give us a call on 0800 079 8586.
Hope this helps.
Leanne.

Hi Leanne,
many thanks for replying.
I have already checked in each room and it’s in the one that gets the best speed, I have checked the coverage and it says i should be getting excellent/ full bars of signal where i am but I only get 2 bars and the same with my iPhone I only get 2 bars of signal 😞

Hi @Ojeh
Thanks for coming back to me.
Have you checked the network status to see if we have any issues reported for the area?
If nothing shows please report this and our network team can get this looked into for you.
Thanks.
Leanne 🙂
