4GEE mini

I have just set up my new 4GEE mini. Can anyone tell me if the device automatically switches off, when not in use for a period of time? When I switch on device, I can connect and download with iPad, phones etc. but if I don’t try to upload/download for a period, the 4GEE mini appears to switch off. Is this normal. Just need to know, so I am aware when I need to use internet after an idle period.

Depends on the exact Model, some do and some dont, some allow you to configure Inactivity Shutdown within the Routers Admin Setting, but it not sensed on Download or Upload Traffic, its sensed on a WiFi Connection(s) to the Router, so a lack of a WiFi Connection can trigger the Inactivity Shutdown.

Sorry, don’t really know much about the EE 4GEE mini. How would I access the Admin settings on the device. Do I go online to do that?

Connect to it via WiFi, the Login to the Web Admin Page, if its EE then its probably 192.168.1.1 your need the Admin User and Passwords (normally admin & admin) but all the info should be on the Routers Box or a Label on the Router or behind the Battery or Battery Cover.

It will generally switch off to conserve the battery after about 30 mins of inactivity. This is not configurable on its management pages.

Depends on the Router Model, some will allow you to switch the Inactivity Timer to Never within the Admin Settings.

Will check in settings later, but have now found if I have it on charge, it doesn’t switch off. That makes life easier if you are repeatedly on and off internet for part of day.
