Hi,
I have an EE sim in my BT router for 4G home wifi. i also have an EE contract on my iPhone 15 mobile. I can not use wifi calling while connected to my home wifi network. everything is turned on as it should be and I've tried everything suggested. I just got off the phone with EE 150 and he said 4G wifi doesn't support wifi calling as it uses the same network.. this doesn't make sense to me at all as i have an external arial for the router and have great wifi access in my house. Does anyone know the answer to connecting please as phone signal is non existent in my house.
Thank you

Hi @Natman44
The call handler is correct. Your WiFi is via a 4G router which is using the same mobile network as your mobile phone.
Thanks
To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone. You can call Freephone +44 800 079 8586 on Skype
EE standard opening hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 9pm - Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 8pm.

The WiFi-hotspot emitted by a mobile router is equally as capable of being used for WiFi-calling, as any other WiFi-hotspot.
The onward connection from there is the mobile network, but that's immaterial for the local WiFi-connection.

thank you ,
I tried putting the phone in airplane mode and connected to the wifi, so no mobile network available on my phone. it still won't allow wifi calling, is that not some kind of block somewhere ? wifi works fine for regular browsing etc

Becase it's not using WiFi the WiFi you are connecting to is 4G.

WiFi & 4G-mobile are different technologies. The user is shutting down the mobile radios by enabling flight mode - with WiFi-enabled manually, this should force WiFi-calling because of zero mobile coverage.
I'm not aware of any issues with mobile routers & WiFi-calling, there's been a few users on here previously who do similar in fringe areas.
