Honestly if you have a ps4 pro you're not missing much. Saving would be the best option.

Ordered this last year understanding that 10 equal payments of £45 would be taken ee have now taken 11 payments and unable to explain why

The PS5 add to plan is an interest free plan, you pay across your contract over an 11-month period.
