Minecraft Realms is not accessible within EE home network

Bannini

I have minecraft at home set up on several devices but cannot connect to Realms from within my home EE network.

I cannot connect to a working "Realm" from the Wifi (2.4) or cable in my house using: Android, Windows or XBox MC clients. When I try, I can find the realm in the list, select it and then it eventually fails after sitting on "Loading Resource Packs" for a while.

However, I can connect on Android when using data, and I can also connect on Windows via WiFi tethering using my mobile, so it isn't MC itself.

I have standard uPnP and security enabled. I have tried port forwarding on 80, 443 and 40000-65000 but no luck.

When TCPView, I was able to see the difference between the two scenarios:

  • Tethered to mobile I get a single UDP connection on a high port to destination *. That's all that gets created.
  • Home Network I get up to 25 connections, most TCP, most seem transient. I still get a few UDP v6 connections too.

Has anyone encountered this before or have any ideas how it might be resolved. The Smart Hub is configured in a fairly standard way other than that.

Hi @Bannini.

I'm not sure what would be stopping this from working.

One of our community broadband experts may be able to offer some advice on how to get this working.
