Hey everyone, fairly sure I'm not the first person nor will be the last to have this issue. Made the swap from BT to EE last week, and was assured everything should be exactly the same, simple straight swap and for the most part it has been. Except for one thing, I'm no longer able to use my PS5 Remote Play from a network outside of my own.
My set up is this. My router is plugged in in the hallway, my PS5 is in my living room, and I'm using one of the Wifi Plus boxes for it. Same set up as I had with BT. My PS5 has a Static IP address, and I've set up the Port Forwarding based on the rules I've seen around. Yet, when I try to use Remote Play from my Work computer, it's refusing to connect to the PS5, I get a generic "Something Went Wrong - 8801330f" error message, which on searching just tells me its to do with Port Forwarding, and as mentioned I have done that.
Now I'm pretty open to the idea that maybe I have done something wrong, but I'm not really sure what. I've:
At this point I'm at a loss on what more I can do. Unfortunately I'm at work right now, so I can't send the list of ports I've forwarded but it was based on other posts I've seen around on the likes of Reddit and months ago here. If there is a more up to date list, or even a specific way I should be forwarding them, then that'd be handy just in case I've done something wrong.
As I say, I'm perfectly willing to say this is user error at this point, but I need this fixed. I use the Remote Play function a lot when I go to visit family or other places, and up until this point it's worked fine, and then the switch to EE happened and it's bust.

Not a fan of double posting as I know that's bad forum etiquette but wanted to update this
I've tried a few additional things since the post, rebooting the router a few times and clearing the PS5s cache and such and still nothing
Someone I work with passed me a website to check the ports that have been opened and it does seem like the Ports aren't actually open despite that being set up in the Smart Hub settings, so I'm a little bit at a loss on what to do. I've searched and seen others have similar issues but there doesn't seem to be an actual solution for it.
I'll be visiting the EE store I got the switch done at this week about this because it's honestly getting beyond frustrating, this should have been a simple switch over

Hi @jcmoorehead
I'm disappointed to hear you're no further forward with this yet. Have you tried all the suggested troubleshooting steps through PlayStation also? I can see on their website you can chat with a PlayStation Expert, and this may be worthwhile doing.
If after doing this nothing changes, then please reach out to us directly so the team can support you further.

Thanks for the reply 🙂
Done the steps on those pages unfortunately and it hasn't helped. I've managed to diagnose that the ports just don't seem to be getting opened on the actual smart hub. Having searched it seems others have had a similar issue with no real solution offered, just seems to be random.
I'll nip into the nearby shop on Tuesday when I'm back in Edinburgh and see what they say. Comes down to it, I might have to try a third party router to see if that makes a difference but Id rather not mess about with swapping hardware

So a quick update but after signing out and in again on the remote play app at my parents, I've now been able to use remote play!
So not quite sure what, if anything, changed but just seems like it needed a total reboot and reset on all ends.

Hey again @jcmoorehead, thanks for coming back to let us know, and I'm glad to hear that this is working as it should be for you now!
You take care 😊

Hello
are you still able to use remote play with EE WiFi away from home?
I’m about paying the cancellation fee (about £200) because EE are useless for PlayStation remote play.
what do you mean you signed in and out at your parents’?
