Am I missing something? How benefit me to link my account to my device?

Hope you're well. Totally new to digital world & lost.
Q1: How does it benefit me to link my account to my device*?
Is purpose to manage my account online? Seems super-hard to navigate.
* My account: Registered on EE's website. My devices: Mobile is EE, altho' type this on laptop.
Manage a/c: Eg can see whole of each monthly bill? When click on billing seems directed to a phone no. only?
Q.2: Believe one thing posted somewhere in community is linked to Meta, correct?
