Having trouble linking my new sim

_Chelsea_

Hi everyone!

I switched over to EE yesterday.. I’ve just put my new sim in and it’s all up and running. So I downloaded the app and made an account but it’s not letting me link my mobile to my account, it keeps saying that the 4 digit code has been sent to me but I haven’t received anything. I’ve tried multiple different times.. even turned my phone on and off, I’ve kept my old number from O2 everyone else has had no trouble sending me messages. Just wondering if I’ve done something wrong or if I just need to give it more time before trying again.. I’m on a sim only plan (direct debit).

Thanks.

Hello @_Chelsea_ ,

Welcome to the community,

Is your SIM card from your previous provider still working? If it is, I would suggest waiting until you lose all the connection on that one, it can also take up to 24 hours before the EE sim will work, especially as nothing happens over the weekend, otherwise contact customer service and they should be able to help.

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using Skype or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.

yes my old sim stopped working completely. So I put my new EE sim in and I was receiving calls and messages straight and I had no trouble making calls or messages myself. I’m just thinking that maybe it’s taking awhile to transfer my number over as I kept my previous number from my old provider. I’ll give it some more time and if I still have no luck I’ll get in contact with EE.

Thanks for your advice!

Can you receive OTPs from other automated senders? You've mentioned about "everyone else has had no trouble", but does that only apply to person-to-person texts?
