@Bazinga , I agree it has not been fixed, the only way, if you want to switch roaming off and on at present, is to ring customer service, although not sure why you would want to switch it off and on. You should be able to switch roaming off on your phone’s settings and then back on again. I can do this with my Apple products by going to settings and then clicking on mobile data and switch roaming off or on from there. Hope that helps.

I switch roaming goff when travelling to Israel for example given EE charge £1.80 per minute for a call and you would need a lottery win to use data. Vodafone £6 per day call and date 25 GB max of your allowance.

The EE app was so useful for this feature it routine I just do without thinking.I could have a bland moment check the app and see roaming is off when in fact it not. Then incur roaming charges. That said I wonder how these charges would hold in a court given EE as far as Im aware provide no warning the information with the app is not correct.

There are other part of the app which are not working viewing my plan pages just go blank.

It's not a good customer experience. A shame because the network is first class.

That feature has never worked for me since i've been with EE tbh

If you travel to Israel a lot, maybe look into a local SIM card, if your phone is eSIM compatible (turn your EE sim into an eSIM)

That solves the issue of having to turn it off/on all the time, as you can just leave it off on the both the UK EE SIM and the Israel local SIM card

@Bazinga , this is a new app, and if you find something is not working for you, you can always report it, as is normal with something new, improvements will happen.

@Kirigaya_Kazuto I used to always have it showing as roaming on, this suddenly happened about a year ago, not sure why, but I know that roaming is enabled, whereas with my IPad, it shows roaming as enabled, so it is something to do with the phone part of the app.

@Bazinga , When I went to Egypt, so that I could make calls, same as in the UK when roaming, as it where, there is a charge you can pay, which makes it cheaper, or rather the same as if in the UK, may be worth asking, not sure about Israel, but EE should be able to let you know, similar to roam further, if you get what I mean.

Generally with EE you have to opt in for charges, so if you are roaming and don't have a pass, you can't use data until you actively accept the charge. You shouldn't have to turn off roaming unlike say Vodafone which will just charge you as you can't opt out.

Then when you get home you can complain about getting charged £9226 for roaming when you bought 164 packages 🤣

@chistery , you are correct, it would have been too expensive to use data whilst in Egypt, even with a package, left roaming on, as wanted to be able to receive and make calls, would not have been able to use data unless I accepted a charge for it, did not know about other networks, interesting what you have written, thank you for that.
