Data Gifting Issues

I currently have several lines on my account and can gift data between the accounts as expected.

I've just purchased a new SIM Only "No Frills SIM 1GB" for my son to use in his phone. This SIM is on the same account as my phone and it's under my name but when I go into the MyEE app, his number isn't in the drop down to select.

Any idea why his number isn't displayed to be able to gift data to?

It's definitely a SIM only that's paid for monthly. I ordered it through my existing contract as an additional SIM.

The number itself is displayed in MyEE (both the App and Website pages) and the account number is the same as my main contract.

When I go to gift data, there's a drop down to select who you'd like to gift it to. I have 2 options, one is my daughters phone and the other is my tablet that I have. But my son's number isn't in there.

For anyone reading this further down the line, I've literally just got of live chat with an advisor and because the SIM is a "No Frills" SIM, it can't have data gifted to it.

I have to wait till 4th Oct where I can look to upgrade the contract to a different one or increase the data.

I'll buy some more data for now and look into the upgrade options once they're available.

Hi XRaySpeX,

It was taken out as an additional line directly with EE, through MyEE.

Additional Line > SIM Only > Then it was one of the 1GB options I had available

Ah, yes @Basketcase81.

I've just seen this on our data gifting help page:

'If you purchased a plan after 17 August 2022, Data Gifting is only available on our Essentials, All Rounder and Full Works plans.'

Think I must have missed that bit! 🙈

Hopefully I'll get the plan changed over on the 4th. Either that or I'll purchase more data, as and when my son needs it.

The next thing is to stop him rinsing his data 😆
