Attempting to upgrade

Hello,

I am online and attempting to upgrade my old Huawei phone that went out of contract in 2023, to a cheaper deal than I am currently paying ( for a Samsung 25 or similar) but I keep being told that the monthly repayments aren't suitable for my income bracket (£30k+), despite being less than 1% of my monthly earnings, and that I need to pay for the phone in full. If I "can't afford" £17 a month, how am I supposed to be able to afford £550 up front?!

How is this the case if I'm currently paying more than that for an old phone and I've never missed a payment?

I'm pretty put off that this forum and phoning are the only two ways to contact someone and I'm tempted just to cancel the contract completely and take a new one out elsewhere.

I've been trying for weeks now and have missed out on upgrade offers, because of this, and "technical errors" on the website.

If there isn't a suitable resolve, I'll happily give my 17 years of customer to another provider that has better communication channels.
