Thread Unread after You Post to It

Can't you make it that a thread becomes Read, i.e. not bolded, after you yourself post to it? The v. action of replying to it makes it Read as you've just read it. Fed up with refreshing just to get it Read.

Good morning @XRaySpeX,

I have received a final update from Khoros on this particular issue.  Unfortunately, this is not something that they are planning to fix any time soon, if at all.  The explanation I received is as follows,

"The behavior you recognized and reported occurs when an 'inline reply' is sent and that existing tab gets closed without further action being taken.

An inline reply does not count as an action essentially.

In order for your written response to count as an action, the thread has to be refreshed (from the recentpostpage.)

This will display your response and mark the thread/post as read.

I appreciate that this may seem impractical and a bit time-consuming but there isn't a fix date scheduled for this particular issue for now so unfortunately, for now, this is how to counter it."

I presume that this is not a priority for Khoros as the recent post page is mainly used by superusers and some regular contributors, but the vast majority of the Community will not use this URL to interact with the Community.

Cheers

Sean

@Sean_D , @James_B : Something's changed v. recently.

Now when I reply to any post it no longer shows as Unread in the list of Unread topics of the Board without having to refresh the thread.
