Thread Unread after You Post to It

Can't you make it that a thread becomes Read, i.e. not bolded, after you yourself post to it? The v. action of replying to it makes it Read as you've just read it. Fed up with refreshing just to get it Read.

Hi @XRaySpeX,

Is this happening if you reply in a new tab/window, then return to the board in the previous tab/window?

Hi @XRaySpeX,

Thanks for highlighting this issue. You are absolutely correct, replying to a post should mark the thread as read.  As a matter of fact, as soon as you access a thread it should mark it as read even if you don't reply.

Could you please grab me a screenshot of the unread thread from board view, one that you have replied to?

I have tested this and the thread title is unemboldened when I reply to it.  I am not sure if it's the action of me accessing the thread that marks it as read or me replying but I haven't been able to access a thread without it showing as read.

I am happy to raise a ticket into Khoros but as I can't replicate it I will need to demonstrate the issue to them.

Is anyone else experiencing the same thing?

Cheers

Sean

There's more to this that meets the eye. I'm sure I've seen the thread itself in the list of threads in the board highlighted as well as under "Unread topics". Back to the drawing board. BBL!

@Sean_D : I'm actually mixing up the Board View & the All Topics View (which I mostly use). However this issue appears in both areas in diff ways.

  1. Board View: Threads responded to by oneself still appear (mostly) under the R-Hand "Unread Topics" as shown earlier.
  2. All Topics View: Threads responded to by oneself still appear (always) bolded as Unread in its lists.
    1. Untouched by me (Correct):All Topic0.JPG
    2. Read only by me (Correct):All Topic1.JPG

    3. Replied to by me (Wrong):All Topic2.JPG

    4. Re-read by me (Correct):All Topic3.JPG

Good morning @XRaySpeX,

Thank you for taking the time to delve into this issue.  Thanks to your comment above I was able to replicate the issue.

It does appear that the issue is limited to the 'All Post' view.  My experience has been the same as yours, even replying to a thread does not change the thread title from bold to unbold.  I would expect the behaviour to be consistent throughout the Community so any thread accessed should change the title of the thread to unbold to indicate it has been read 😲

I have raised a ticket into Khoros. I will update you as soon as I know more

Cheers

Sean
