Did you mean:

Smart Wifi Pro + landline

I have reached the maximum 5 devices I can add to my EE fibre - 4 x digital landline handsets and 1 phone connected via the wifi adapter. However I also need to connect a burglar alarm - which works if I delete one of the above devices and use another wifi adapter but I won't to see if I can connect it via the Smart Wifi Pro extender? The base router has a green port which would work but this is too far away from the alarm. Is there an adapter that converts the phone jack to a LAN jack to plug into the Smart Wifi Pro?

@SteveFletcher61  No there isn’t.  Have you tried getting a network switch.   This will give you more Ethernet ports.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

I didn't think so. Though ethernet ports isn't what I'm after as the wifi extender has 2 already....

So you really mean to convert a LAN port to a phone jack? If so, there isn't.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

well I want to plug the lead out of the alarm (which is a standard telephone male socket that would go into an old school phone socket) and connect it to the Smart Wifi Pro extender - the main router has a socket for this but the wifi extender on has 2 x female LAN socket - so whichever way you see the conversion going!

There's only 1 way this convo is going, the wrong way as you expressed it in the OP.

@SteveFletcher61 The connection off the Alarm dialler to the DVA, does it dial out correctly, so you know, that DVA adapter works directly to the EE/BT router on the DECT frequency range, it has NOTHING what so ever to do with any wi-fi frequency.

As you are stuck with the Max off 5 connections DVA/Phones, you either have to drop one off the phones out off use, or cable an extension BT cord from your alarm panel to the back of the Router BT Line connector. How was the panel wired originally, it must have had an extension cord going somewhere to a telephone line?

Hi Jim,

yes I have managed to get the alarm to dial out via the WiFi adapter- so I know it should work.
Thanks for suggesting cabling an extension- I happen to have a phone cable running under the floor from close to the router and exiting close to the alarm ( I was in the process of filling in the BT wall socket and pushing the cable under the floor but just managed to dig out the filler to find the tail).

I guess I just need to connect a socket to each end then plug the router in one and and the alarm the other.

presumably I only need to use 2 of the wires as no ringer wire would be needed?

@SteveFletcher61 That's the way to do it, 2 wires should work ok, you do not need ring back on the dial out any way.

Edit:- Just remember the following, NO power Router and ONT are down, so NO internet, dialler is out therefore no Alarm call will be sent. Unless you have Battery Backup on both the ONT and Router, just the way it is now....

Thank you for the advice. All noted!
