When I agreed to transfer to EE from BT on 29th July 2024 I only found out that my landline number had changed when I checked the EE-app to know when the new service would be operative ( 13th Aug). I rang EE immediately and was told there was nothing that could be done and complaining would be ineffective! I have a dependent 97 year old mother with dementia who is not able to cope with change and am self employed and my landline number is important to maintain client contact. I see no reason why my previous number could not have been maintained and this was NOT explained to me when I agreed to transfer to EE. Please help me to retrieve my original landline number as a matter of urgency.

This has just happened to me. I live in Belfast and i got phone and broadband switched over from Sky. Just plugged my phone in and the number is coming up as a welsh number. I asked for my number to be ported over as i have had it for 20 plus years. I am also self employed and a lot of customers have this number also my elderly relatives. Im really worried that i cant get this back. I phoned EE and they said they cant check nothing yet because it is still an open order.

This, too, happened to me.
Raised a complaint on 9/12/24. Acknowledged and given a reference number. And the "promise " that it would be looked into. Needless to say, no joy, yet.....
And could not afford EE charges to call friends, and give new number, so no word from anyone since 5 months. Only use household for 0800 numbers, now.
But Belfast to Wales a very sad affair. Ridiculous. Where did they get that number from, one wonders.
My original line is still working as an online company had it as the contact, but before the funds went through, had to receive a call to give a code, to print in. The code did come. Using my original number. Mmmm.
Try that. Raise a complaint. Stir them up. They care not for their customers.

phone number back.
EE are hopeless, and appear to be helpless, as well.
Must start stirring again. Was advised by an ex employee to give the
complaint 6 weeks, and if no result, head further up the chain.
Will do.
Keep us posted.
