Digital voice failing AGAIN!

So, since porting from BT to EE broadband and Digital Voice, really happy with broadband, but digital voice is complete rubbish.

Currently, I have a dial tone but can’t make a call.. I had this problem before and it was fixed.. I don’t expect it to re-appear.

I’ve been told to reboot the router and try again.. **bleep**.. how hard is landline?!  Copper never had this problem!

seriously  thinking about cancelling landline… maybe that’s the strategy?

@fennie561 Been muted a few times strategy wise, are you going to try your de and re again, if the on off does not clear the fault. Let us know, voip is irksome, but one OP has posted the new EE WiFi Pro hub has cured all his landline problems. User was @UkzVortex98 And his post Re: Digital Voice issues - Page 12 - The EE Community

Reach out and see if it's still all going good as of today!

That’s helpful thanks and the previous case mirrors my own experience. Reset did indeed clear the fault.

I thought I had the pro hub but I’m not paying £10 a month extra to make DV work.

@fennie561 May be worth seeing if you can get FOC if it is a cure, but would reach out to @UkzVortex98 to at least see he is still up and not having the same issue's, it's one of those that only time will tell. He is looking to go to 1.6Gb/s but the DV will be holding that back until it gets solved to work on that package.

@fennie561 , Can I check...was the fault you were having that the DV phone would ring, but if you answered you couldn't hear the person calling (nor could they hear you)? (I can't say I've tried ringing out once I know its not working)

I have this - only solution is a reboot of the EE Hub (a reboot of the handset does nothing)

Spoke to EE who basically tried to blame interference from other devices on MY network (as I have switches/smart home devices etc). Suggested disconnecting everything else...yeah right...

At the moment , when I get the issue I reboot the hub and alls well for upto a week at a time...but no way through life...I keep meaning to get back onto EE, but the last couple of times have resorted in a replacement hub (same model - no fix), or a factory reset (no fix). Both of which have cost me many hours of setting everything back up...

Not to mention that you can't export phone contacts from the EE router now...so I'm manually maintaining the VCF file I exported from my old BT router....

If only EE were looking at these forums and seeing peoples frustrations rather than leaving the community to fend for themselves....

@JimM11  - I'll take a look at the post you shared above...maybe the pro hub is the answer...i may try getting back onto EE for a FoC upgrade if it looks like its a possible cure...

Hi - i don't know about incoming - we send all calls to voicemail as no-one we know uses landline anymore.

Its  "pick up phone, press green - dial tone, dial number.........nothing"

tbh, I think the way DV has been setup and marketed is rubbish.. they should give it away with the hub, not charge.

Next house we buy, unless mobile signal is bad,we'll ditch landline altogether.

And.. indeed.. you'd think EE would at least read some of these threads!
