Digital Voice

Tried to phone EE using my new landline digital voice service.   Was able to connect ok but when asked to press button to select department my phone would not  accept any button presses.   Kept being told to select button number..   Not sure if this is problem with landline digital voice service or my own telephone.   Has anyone come across this?

Had to contact using mobile but I prefer to use landline so this would be a serious problem considering the number of calls made which ask you to select button for transfer to departments.

After googling and trying different solutions, I have found answer to problem.   It's caused by using an adapter.

I use an adapter as phone base unit with answer machine is in living room.   Hub is in 'home office' beside computer, printer, etc in spare bedroom.  Extension handset was in bedroom beside hub.   Now that I have stopped use of adapter and connected main phone directly to hub in bedroom I can make calls needing further buttons for selections.   I have also noticed that the dialing tone is much louder when phone connected directly to hub.

I will have to go with this change of phone location, although noticing answer machine signalling message and even being able to interrupt answer message while being received is much more convenient when base unit is in living room.

I've only had digital voice system for 2 days so haven't made any outgoing calls when I've been asked to speak up.  I've only tested by phoning my mobile and heard the answer machine on landline coming on.   Hope that anyone else having this problem reads this solution.
