A few months ago I switched to a fibre line with EE. I was sent two DVAs with the hub. When my BT Decor 1200 is plugged into the DVA and I pick up the receiver I hear the dialling tone and can dial out and get connected. But sometimes when I pick up the phone there is no dial tone. If I switch off the DVA power and switch on again the DVA blinks orange and then goes blue. Pick up the phone and there is a dialling tone and I can dial out !
I didn't think it affected incoming calls until today. I was expecting a call and it did not come at the expected time. When I checked the phone - no dial tone! I switched the DVA off and on, got the dial tone. Dialled 1571 and there was a message from my expected caller !
What is the cause of the problem and what is the solution?\

Thank you,
I didn't know whether the copper cable had been disconnected at the other end or not, so I cut it just to be sure.

@Jones01 You did right, no issues at all with you doing so as correct way, you mostly cannot even test if the -50V is present or battery backup is in use anymore especially on a data/dv connection at all.
OR are quick to disconnect especially when there is a waiting list for fttc connections that not all customers can be covered with for a full fibre product.
It's also 100% better to use a cable/socket arrangement when it exist's rather than rely on a stupid DVA working 100% off the time when as the Forum see's oops it's stopped working for the DVA but the hub connection is good, wish i had a spare phone plugged into that as well?

It wasn't my first attempt to find a solution.
Originally I had the Plusnet router, Grandstream ATA, Truecall call blocker and DECT phone base all on a small stand in our hallway. It looked a mess. I hadn't got a clue what I was doing, but I thought that I'd give the extension socket idea a try. There would be nothing lost if didn't work and I was ever so pleased when it did.

@Jones01 That's what my wife was like, now there is zero on what used to be the hall table she moved that out as well, furniture fad moves, had to relocate all devices, so HUB/Grandstream ATA/and Dect phone all up in the office, waiting to sneak the other handset into the dinning room, so need to do a little wait as Asus AP got moved from the hall, baby steps.🤣
