Will the hibernation policy apply to monthly contracts?

Hello

I have a monthly contract subscription for my phone line. I'm abroad. Do I have to do a chargeable text or call just to make the line active? (LIKE PAYG). I'll visit the UK at least once a year for a few weeks.

Thank you

No, there's no such thing as hibernation with contracts. As long as you keep paying your monthly bill on time you keep your contract going.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

Thank you. For monthly payments, direct debit has been set up. If I incur costs from using services outside of my subscription plan, will that extra costs be automatically deducted from my debit card?

Your monthly bill will be collected from your nominated bank account.

No, you get a single bill which is charged to your DD as it has been set up.

Apparently my husband and I were told that that EE texts about cutting off the lines despite us using the number abroad to keep it active.

I caved in and got post-paid instead. 😭 The line will always remain active even when unused abroad. I think the problem is I'd be stuck with EE unless I change to another telco while in the UK.
