VAT invoice

Hi there.

I'm a new EE customer and set up a new account explaining that my company will be paying the bills.  I've just received my first bill and there's no VAT on it!  I've done some digging and it would appear that there's a difference between a business and a consumer account (not sure exactly what yet) and it looks like the Sales Exec I spoke with has set me up on a consumer account.

Is the only solution changing to a business customer when all you need is a VAT receipt?  And presumably you'll be charged for being a business customer?  And do we pay a VAT element on a consumer account or is it actually VAT free?

Can anyone help?!

@Checklist , yes, if you want vat on your bill, then you would have to have a business account, if it is a personal account there is no vat showing, that is correct.

@Checklist : Of course you pay standard VAT on a consumer a/c. It's the law but it is just not itemised.
