Upgrading contract halfway through old one

I'm Looking at upgrading to the All rounder Plan. I'm halfway through my 24 month contract with EE, But saw on the website that I can upgrade for free. My question is, if I upgrade does my old contract automatically get cancelled and it just switches over to the new one? Dont want to end up paying for 2 Contracts😅

Early Upgrades are Free to do when you reach a certain point in your contract term and it's basically not worth doing as if you take a look through the "Shop" and click "Upgrades" you will see you still have to pay the "Upgrade Fee" to end your current contract & deal based on the time remaining but when you pay this you are ending the previous contract and starting the new 24-36 month contract.

Sorry to be the bearer of sad information but nothing is ever "Free" in this world without a "Fee" or "Tax" applied somewhere.

Unless your out of contract of course then the Upgrade Fee is Truly FREE 🙂.

Yes, when you upgrade your new contract replaces the old, with the same billing date regardless of when you upgrade.

@Junedavies1949 : If the website is offering a Free Upgrade at the time then the upgrade should cost you nowt. Anything else would be unlawful.
