Been with EE 16years now - why is it that every opportunity they get the try and get more money from you? Why do you need to pay an upfront fee when trying to renew your contract? I think it’s about time I go elsewhere as the deals seem to be better? Can never get through on messages and constantly on hold when trying to speak to someone on the phone??

Contracts don't need renewing, but I presume you're talking about an upfront fee towards the cost of your chosen new phone?

Modern-day smartphones are increasingly expensive devices, if the cost is prohibitive you may want to consider a SIM-only plan to reduce your monthly cost until the value of a particular phone falls.
