Upgrade to a tablet

Hi

I am currently on a Sim only and just wondered if I am able to upgrade my sim only to a tablet?

Ideally I would like to keep my same number but rather than have sim only have a  Apple iPad mini on contract rather than taking out a 2nd line.

Is this possible to do?
