I am being told it's upgrade time, but my bill is still very high, so I cannot work out if I am still paying for my device, I do not remember the details and my bill does not separate mobile and device plan
I am paying Essentials 5GB £64

@John7475 : EE's traditional contracts have no concept of paying off the handset. You agreed to pay the same price for the full duration of the total bundled contract. There will however be a 10% discount 3 months after the end of min. term. You may always choose to upgrade your contract to a cheaper SIM-Only contract from the last 45 days of your contract term.
The Upgrade Now in your a/c should also offer you SIM-Only plans.

The FlexPay plans, where device & airtime are separate, are distinguishable by two independent monthly payments.
If you have one single monthly payment, it is covering all your services without differentiation. Once you are outside the minimum term, you are free to move to a SIM-only.

So if I do nothing, I will continue to pay for the device and airtime plan. I will have to go to sim only to stop paying the device part.
If I upgrade using the link on my account and get an iPhone 16 with a different plan, the old plan will stop entirely. I went through some of that process but the site told me I adding a new plan, it did not say upgrading the current one

Also I cannot see any option to change to sim only, there is only an upgrade which I do not want to do right now
