I am thinking of upgrading my phone. I currently have a Pixel 6 and looking to upgrade to Pixel 9 Pro. However all the data plans with it are more expensive than my current data plan (I have already finished the contract on current phone and upgraded to a SIM only plan). So if I pay the full price upfront for the Pixel 9 Pro outright, would I be able to transfer my SIM only contract to it?
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

Hey there @Kittnen, welcome to the EE Community 😊
If you've switched over to SIM Only, you're welcome to pop your SIM in any phone you like, regardless of where it came from.
The only thing you would need to check is that the phone is unlocked, but in a vast majority of cases SIM-free handsets aren't sold with any network lock.

@Kittnen Any device that is sold with a contract comes with a new tariff you can however purchase the device outright elsewhere and put your SIM card in it.
