Third Party Charges

Hi.

Any support would be helpful.

I discovered that last month neatly £240 worth of third party charges had been made using my sons mobile phone number to microsoft. These were purchases he/we didn't make - we don't have any microsoft products in the household and were also in hospital on the night it happened. We've since put a block and spending cap on his account so this can't happen again.

EE have advised contacting microsoft - literally an impossible task. I chatted online twice to their support who said they would work with EE to get the charges back but haven't actually responded to the forms EE have sent. I managed to get through to somebody on an actual call today but they essentially told me I had no chance of getting help from them as it's not my microsoft account and  can't give out account information. Even after explaining that they were not purchases made by me, the adviser just put the phone down on me.

I'm at my wits end. EE have said its not their fault/problem, there's nothing they can do about it. So I feel like I'm never actually going to get £240 back.

Can anybody help advise anything, please! I'm at a loss

Hi there @SAvenell1

I am very sorry to hear this has happened.

You can find information and advice on next steps, in our Charge To Bill Consumer Code of Practice January 2023, page.

Thanks 🙂

Leanne.
